About the Event

We are delighted that the first of these seminars entitled “Tackling Pregnancy” took place on 16 May 2023.    It was hosted via a "lunch and learn" session sponsored by Linklaters at their offices with employment law speakers: Renee Lee from Bank of New York Mellon and Joshua Li from Linklaters.   There was a great turnout with many professionals joining the seminar either in person or virtually.    During the seminar, the speakers discussed basic maternity protection, what amounts to pregnancy discrimination and what are the remedies and practical tips to employers of Do’s & Don’ts, as well as an introduction to how to submit a claim to the EOC along with some practical case studies.  The seminar was very well received by the participants and lots of questions were asked.

This seminar was only possible with the assistance of the Community Participation Funding Programme on Equal Opportunities of the Equal Opportunities Commission, and we are grateful for their assistance.

Pro Bono HK would also like to express our deep appreciation and thanks to Renee and Joshua for donating their time. We would also like to thank Linklaters and Bank of New York Mellon for sponsoring the lunch, speakers, and venue.
